Like trying to use the full photoshop suite to do thinks you can do in 1/10th the time and training with, say, version 1.75 by clicking the Windows or Mac icon below: This is just a professional-film-editor level tool, not a "want to make a couple of GIFs on the weekend" tool. Why on earth would I have ever even thought to look under 'filters' for the ability to crop or resize? Totally separate concepts. I don't think they could have made a less-intuitive, more difficult tool if they tried. have to get fussy and fiddle with complicated sliders somehow? I have no idea in what context 'undo' is supposed to work, but it never worked once while I was stumbling about the unfathomable UI.Īnd the crop filter? WTF. I accidentally typed a value into a field, erasing the old value. Yeah, I kept clicking it and nothing would happen.

I constantly found myself wondering how to get out of some mistake I made, ended up quitting without saving and starting over. I can't even fathom trying to do anything more complicated at this point. I did manage to make one GIF that didn't suck, but it feels like it took ten times the time and effort it should have for such a simple task as I finally accomplished (cutting 3 seconds out of a longer video and exporting to GIF in one quarter size). I had to manually calculate it myself to keep things from stretching and distorting. I had to get out a calculator because once I typed in the size for one axis, it didn't automatically compute the other axis to keep the same ratio. Even trying to resize was needlessly complicated. But "Crop" was not listed in my favorite, as it was in yours. Even in your posted photo it shows 'favorites'. So yeah, telling me to click "Video" would have been nice. What I want/need seems to be pretty universal for anyone who wants to make GIF files, yet not a single GIF creator/editor does what I want (or it does so much more it's too complicated to use). I really don't understand why this is so impossible. I need something about a thousand times more simple that can do the basics. I don't have time to take a week's worth of tutorials just to figure out how to do something simple because it's hidden behind 90,000 options I'll never use. I'm glad this app works for you, but for my needs it's so needlessly over-complicated, confusing, and un-user-friendly that I just can't. How do you do a simple crop? I just want to crop out a portion of the full frame, and have THAT be the new full frame. Finally figured out how to stop it, then remove the export job, tried again, and somehow it worked.) It took me forever to figure out how to export at a reduced resolution (my first attempt just hung at 0% running. This seems grossly over-complicated for doing the simple things I want to do. Nothing else seemed to offer 'crop' functionality, so I have no idea what the hell to do. Saw "size and position" but when I applied that it just shrank the entire image when I dragged.

After scratching my head, I saw the plus sign. It just showed the name of the original full length video clip. Can't seem to make any 'undo' work, so I deleted what it added, got back to where I was. I selected the timeline (I had a 3 second clip) and clicked the plus, and it just added the entire clip from the main display down onto the timeline. I'm sure it's powerful, R8, but I'm completely confused by the user interface.
